What does tradition mean to you?

To us, it’s a selfless commitment to each other for the years to come. Tradition is inclusive; it celebrates the memory of happiness and collaboration with new friends and old. Tradition is the excitement and anticipation we feel leading up to our annual game. Tradition does not hear “I’m too busy”, because it has a place in everyone’s chaotic schedule. It reminds us to be mindful of the ones we are lucky to spend our days with – on and off site. Tradition does not hear “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t fit in”; it hears “the more, the merrier” and “we want you there”. To us, tradition is committing to each other and ourselves for a good time, always! One of our favourite BrOmega traditions? Our annual staff hockey game.

Every spring we host the BrOmega Cup. Colleagues from Broadway Refrigeration and Omega Mechanical step on the ice for a good ol’ game of stick n’ puck. Last night, we were excited to have our 4th annual BrOmega Hockey Game. All skill levels battled it out for an hour and a half for the W (well not quite all team mates had the endurance to make it that long…but its ok). This year, we were lucky to collaborate with Vancouver eFasteners for our Sportsmanship Award, selecting 2 huge beauties who gave it their all on the ice! By the end of the game, we realized no one had been officially chosen to keep score…

The teams have not yet come to agreement who took the W, but we can promise that the 5th Annual BrOmega Cup is scheduled for Spring 2021.
